No true Mafioso can hold their head up without their very own Bada-bing. In Mafia Wars easy money can be earned by owning property. Zynga has recently streamlined the Mafia Wars property system – you can now visualise potential properties, buy and upgrade them on a swish slider (below).
The more expensive the Mafia Wars property, the more cash it brings in for you but the less frequently you cn collect from it. Properties can now be bought and upgraded over time. The annoying need to withdraw sufficient funds from the bank for each property transcation has now been removed but note that if you don’t keep an eye on your property investing (i.e. you just click and keep on clicking) you can run out of cash. Remember to collect any money earned from your Mafia Wars properties reguarly – all done by the single click of a button.
So Mafia Wars newbs need to start small with Louie’s Deli and work their way up via the Flophouse, Pawnshop, Tenement, Warehouse, restaurant, dockyard, office park to the uptown hotel and the mega casino. Not to mention the chop shop which you can build by collecting 50 parts as you play Mafia Wars.
Mafia Wars Properties: Achievements
There are now new achievements associated with the upgraded Mafia Wars property system:
Slum Lord Achievement (own a level 30 Tenement)
Land Baron Achievement (all New York properties upgraded to level 25 or above)
Real Estate Tycoon Achievement (all New York properties upgraded to level 100 or above).
Properties and Robbing
Once upon a time your Mafia Wars properties could be robbed. You would lose millions on protection and property damage! Property could lose “health” (each has a health bar) after being attacked but could also be repaired (at a hefty price!). But robbing went away for a while. Word on the street is that robbing is set to return soon but details on the form of robbing are scarce at this time. Keep collecting property revenues regularly to avoid losing out to robbers. We’re guessing that the map section of the properties page (above) is significant to robbing but we’ll keep you posted.
